An allover quilting design is exactly that: One continuous design stitched over the entire surface of your quilt to give an even coverage of quilting. I take clues from the fabric in the quilt top (e.g. floral, geometric) and information about the recipient of the quilt to make suggestions of suitable quilting designs.
Once upon a time, I could only stitch from paper pantograph patterns, which had to be posted from the United States or Australia. Now I can download computer files to my machine, so there’s no waiting for the postman to come. Which means less exercise for my postman, but much more choice for you…
One of my favourite pattern suppliers is Lorien Quilting

Pricing for allover quilting is determined by the size of your quilt, and the density of quilting you require. Category A patterns are simpler and more open than Category B ones. Category B ones tend to be more densely stitched. They take more time and use more thread, which is why they cost more.
